The World Series of Fighting will crown their first featherweight champion at WSOF 7 as Georgi Karakhanyan squares off with Rick Glenn December 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The two fighters will serve as part of the evening’s televised main card. WSOF officials announced the bout earlier in the week.
Russo-Armenian fighter Georgi Karakhanyan has been on a tear as of late, having won eight straight fights since leaving Bellator MMA in 2011. Karakhanyan made a dominant WSOF debut this past September by submitting UFC veteran Waylon Lowe in the first round of their WSOF 5 bout. He will face off for the title opposite Roufusport Team’s Rick Glenn.
Glenn comes into the fight undefeated in his last twelve outings. The six-foot-tall featherweight has competed under the WSOF banner twice, defeating Alexandre Pimentel at WSOF 2 and Artur Rofi at WSOF 5.
WSOF 7 takes place December 7 at the PNE Agrodome in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The December fight card will be headlined by a light heavyweight showdown pitting Anthony Johnson against Mike Kyle. A middleweight tournament bout between Elvis Mutapcic and Jesse Taylor will co-headline the fight card. More bouts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
